Meet Father Rob

Father Rob was reared in a small suburb of Birmingham, Alabama.  He finished high school at St. Clair County High School in Odenville, Alabama.  After high school graduation, he attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  He began his corporate career in healthcare at one of the major hospitals in Birmingham.  In 1993, Rob earned a Master in Business Administration from Samford University, also in Birmingham.

Rob continued his career in healthcare after moving to Albany, Georgia, in 1998, where he began working in the budget department.  Subsequently, he was promoted to Director of Internal Audit and Chief Compliance Officer.  Rob discerned a call to the priesthood while living in Albany in the Diocese of Georgia.  Upon completing the requisite steps of the diocesan discernment process, he entered The University of the South (Sewanee) in Sewanee, Tennessee, in 2008.  Upon earning a Master of Divinity in 2011, he was ordained to the diaconate in 2011 and ordained to the priesthood in 2012.  Rob has served parishes in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast and the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida.

Rob grew up Baptist.  He met Ann in 1989 at the Presbyterian USA Church in Leeds, Alabama, an adjoining town to his hometown.  In 1990, Rob and Ann began attending St. Mary’s-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church in Birmingham where both of them were confirmed in 1991 and married in 1992.

Rob and Ann have a Boston Terrier fur baby named Mik.  Mik is the fourth of their fur babies which they have had over the years.  Rob and Ann enjoy traveling, reading, playing tennis, spending time on the beach and at the pool, dining, and spending time with friends.
